Discord Orientation
There are four columns in Discord. The first column has a discord button at the top where you can see and communicate with any friends you have on Discord. It also shows all the Servers you belong to. The Safe Harbors server shows a harbor at sunset.
When you choose the Safe Harbors server then you will see all of the channels of that server in the second column. There are two types of channels - text and voice. These will work to communicate with all the members of the Safe Harbors server.
The Voice channels (which can include video) are where we will meet to connect at 10:00 after worship. You will be able to see who is in which channel and move freely between them. When you are in a voice channel you may choose to turn on video, and/or share your screen. There are icons that let you mute yourself, deafen (turn off the sound) and adjust your voice and video settings. Make sure you disconnect to hang up after your conversation or your mic will remain on indefinately.
The Text channels include a place to introduce yourself, a place for announcements, and an orientation to Safe Harbors ministry. There will also be a channel for each of the 12 motions of Baptismal Tai Chi where you can share your thoughts and questions. Unlike Zoom, text chanels in Discord persist - so the discussion can be continued beyond the day we meet.

The fourth column shows all the members of the Safe Harbors server and who is currently online.
